Executives

President | Ellie Anderson | She/Her

Ellie Anderson is the KSU President for 2025-26. The President supervises the general functioning of the Union, including the student businesses, Union committees, Orientation Week and Union employees. They organize training for and support the rest of the Executive and KSU Council, while sitting on the King’s Board of Governors and many King’s committees to represent student interests.

Ellie is in her fourth year and is double majoring in Political Science and Religious Studies (meaning she can take all the fun occult classes for her degree!) When she’s not in the union office, she can be found catching up on schoolwork in the Wardy or Oxford Taproom, cross stitching in the quad, and trying to befriend the ducks in the Public Gardens.

Financial Vice President | Olivia Chaput | She/Her

Olivia Chaput is the KSU Financial VP for 2025-20256. The FVP manages the KSU’s payments, budget, and other things related to the Union’s finances. This includes chairing the Finance Committee, which approves funding requests for ratified King’s Societies and consulting on the KSU Budget. The FVP also sits on multiple other committees, including the King’s Budget Advisory Committee and the Wardroom Advisory Committee. She is available during her office hours or anytime over email to answer any questions about the KSU budget and the way that your Union dues are being spent.

Olivia is in her second year at Kings working towards a double major degree in English and Cinema and Media Studies. She loves reading and spends her spare time doing various crafts, like book-rebinding and sewing. You can often find her hanging out in the Wardy, or around the city on a mission to ride on every Halifax Transit bus line.

If not in class or napping, you can often find them at the Wardy. Come see them during their office hours to chat, as their job title might suggest, they are big fan of communicating!

External Vice President | Iman Mannathukkaren | She/Her

Iman Mannathukkaren is the External Vice President for the 2025-2026 academic year.  Iman is a second year studying Political Science, Contemporary Studies and Cinema and Media Studies. Being a racialised student, Iman is passionate about preventing students from being alienated at King’s. When not doing schoolwork, she can be found consuming media in various forms and doing Indian classical dance.

Student Life Vice President | Ella Mowbray Chriske | She/Her

Ella Mowbray Chriske is the KSU’s Student Life VP for the 2025-2026 year. The SLVP is responsible for internal functions like societies, student events, and residence life. If you need funding or to ratify a society, Ella is who you go to. Her priority is making sure students feel served by the King’s community.

Ella is in her second year at King’s where she has completed the Foundation Year Program and is studying towards a combined honours in Contemporary Studies and History with a minor in Journalism and possibly Film. Outside of classes and the KSU, Ella can be found getting overly excited about cooking for her friends or her new media obsession. Easily entertained by cats, she is excited for her second year as part of the KSU and finding new projects to advocate with students on.

Council

Board of Governor’s Rep | Erica Waugh | She/They

Hi, I’m Erica Waugh, one of two student representatives on the King’s Board of Governors. I’m a second-year student pursuing a combined honours in History and Political Science. I’m passionate about student advocacy, ensuring that King’s remains accessible to everyone, and fostering transparent communication between the university and students. Outside of academics, I love all things sailing, hiking, and reading Spinoza. I’d love to hear any and all student questions and concerns—whether they relate to the Board of Governors or anything else on your mind. Feel free to reach out!

First Year Rep | Brenna O’Regan | She/Her

The first year representative represents all first year students and communicates back to them
what their union is doing. The first year representative also designs the FYP shirts for that year. Brenna wants to make sure that all first year students feel welcome at King’s and are able to adjust into the community. She also wants to make sure that students feel represented by the KSU and by her. Brenna is a first year FYP arts student and loves reading (which feels pretty obvious considering how much she has to read for FYP) and playing Mario video games. She can be found around the King’s campus and at the Walmart or shopping centre.
