President | Gale VanAmburg | They/Them
Gale VanAmburg is the KSU President for 2026-27. The President supervises the general functioning of the Union, including the student businesses, Union committees, Orientation Week and Union employees. They organize training for and support the rest of the Executive and KSU Council, while sitting on the King’s Board of Governors and many King’s committees to represent student interests.
Gale is pursuing a degree in Contemporary Studies and History. They are passionate about disability advocacy, spending too much money on coffee and cooking. If not in class or napping, you can often find them at the Wardy. Come see them during their office hours to chat!
Financial Vice President | Olivia Chaput | She/Her
Olivia Chaput is the KSU Financial VP for 2026-27. The FVP manages the KSU’s payments, budget, and other things related to the Union’s finances. This includes chairing the Finance Committee, which approves funding requests for ratified King’s Societies and consulting on the KSU Budget. The FVP also sits on multiple other committees, including the King’s Budget Advisory Committee and the Wardroom Advisory Committee. She is available during her office hours or anytime over email to answer any questions about the KSU budget and the way that your Union dues are being spent.
Olivia is in her third year at Kings working towards a double major degree in English and Cinema and Media Studies. She loves reading and spends her spare time doing various crafts, like book-rebinding and sewing. You can often find her hanging out in the Wardy, or around the city on a mission to ride on every Halifax Transit bus line.
External Vice President | Iman Mannathukkaren | She/Her
Iman Mannathukkaren is the External Vice President for the 2025-2026 academic year. The EVP connects King’s students with external community organizations, other student unions and the Canadian Federation of Students. They also sit on the King’s investments committee. Iman is very passionate about building community and helping King’s students be active community members in their broader community.
Iman is a second year studying International Development Studies, Contemporary Studies and Film Studies. When not doing schoolwork, she can be found consuming media in various forms and doing Indian classical dance.

Board of Governor’s Rep | Erica Waugh | She/They
First Year Rep | Brenna O’Regan | She/Her
The first year representative represents all first year students and communicates back to themwhat their union is doing. The first year representative also designs the FYP shirts for that year. Brenna wants to make sure that all first year students feel welcome at King’s and are able to adjust into the community. She also wants to make sure that students feel represented by the KSU and by her. Brenna is a first year FYP arts student and loves reading (which feels pretty obvious considering how much she has to read for FYP) and playing Mario video games. She can be found around the King’s campus and at the Walmart or shopping centre.
Advocacy Representative | Kay Nelson | They/Them
The Advocacy Rep represents the interests and concerns of all Union members, with specific efforts of actively advocating for students who are underrepresented in the King’s community, and engaging with students and student groups that serve particular student communities. The Advocacy Rep also provides recommendations to Council of reputable organizations that the Union may desire to donate to.
Member-at-large | Barley Burns | She/They/He
Barley Burns is the Member-at-Large for the 2025/26 year. The member-at-large represents the interests of all King’s students, sits on Finance Committee and holds a meeting with the KSU Executive once per month. Barley is doing the one-year Bachelor of Journalism program at King’s College and is a resident of Angel’s Roost residence. They have a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management with a specialization in Development Policy from Carleton University. They own a walking tour company focused on 2SLGBTQ+ history. They love performing, going for nature walks and finding cool rocks!

Chair | Michelle Day | She/Her
Michelle Day is the Chair of the KSU for the 2025-26 academic year. The Chair facilitates meetings of the Executive and Council, and ensures that decisions follow the KSU Bylaws and procedures.
Michelle is in her 4th year and is majoring in Law, Justice, and Society with a minor in History. Michelle is also the Co-President of the Undergrad Law Society, and is a student worker in Prince Hall. Outside of class, you can find her in the learning commons or in line for Tim’s!
